TURTLE DAY!

We went to the Turtle Sanctuary on the first day as well but I thought it needed its own article. Anyway on with the Turtles!

In this saltwater pool live three, sometimes more sea turtles they are here because they are injured or sick. They stay here until they can return to the ocean but some don't even return because it's not safe for them.

Q:  Can you guess what is wrong with this poor sea turtle?

A:   If you look at the very back of the turtle, you can see that is has a broken/                                             cracked shell:(

Q: I wonder what has happened to this sea turtle, can you guess?

A: The front right fin is shorter than it's left fin, this fin could have been caught on a boat engine (sadly that is not that rare for turtles).

This turtle is smaller but has the most serious injury out of all of them!

Q:   What could possibly be wrong with this amazing sea turtle?

A:   This cute turtle has lost there left back fin!

Comment if you got all of these right or wrong! ;)

Now you're all probably wondering, what this is. It is the hatchery area, yes this is where the turtle eggs hatch I know cool right. I have never seen one hatch. But I do hope to one day, the cool thing about this. Is that sometimes locals find eggs on the beach and bring them to the sanctuary, so they have a safer home. They are looked after until they are old enough to survive in the ocean by themselves.

I decided to put this is on my blog, because I thought that this was a beautiful painting. It is painted all around the sanctuary (also it wasn't there the last time I came to the sanctuary).

If you are wondering when the last time I came to Bali was in 2016. At that time we also visited, this turtle sanctuary it was amazing to see how it has changed over the two years.

Yes, I know what your thinking, they are the cutest things you have ever seen, if they are not the cutest then get of my blog now! They are all so tiny don't you agree.

This one has a weird arm but it is still so cute:3 I love it.

I don't know whats happening all I can think of is that there trying to escape but we wouldn't let them do that of course.

COURTNEY AND GRACE WE ARE STILL REMEMBERED YAYYYYYY!

If you did not go to Waitakiri Primary School or you are not part of my family, then you will have no idea what I am saying and think I'm crazy. Two years ago when I got back from my trip to Bali, I held a fundraiser with my two best friends Courtney and Grace! I had came back with some turtle bracelets, keyrings and necklaces. Which we were planning on selling at the fundraiser. Courtney & Grace's mums (thanks Trena and Debra) both baked some cookies and a bunch of other things as well. We sold out of everything and raised $638 dollars towards the turtle sanctuary.

Sorry about the blurry pictures but that was the best I could get in the hot weather.

Here is a close up of some cute sleeping baby turtles! So little so cute:3

They also have some tortoises that live outside in their small pond, last time we came we feed these exact tortoises.

Thanks for reading!
